Anna Kamenshchikova from Belarus speaks about the characters in the programs and about friendship with gymnasts from different countries

At the international Alina Kabaeva Grand Prix Champions Cup tournament Anna Kamenshchikova from Belarus shared what characters she conveys on the carpet and why one of the exercises for her is a split:

"I have new routines for hoop and clubs. My hoop program is very interesting, especially from a psychological standpoint. It shows the cyclical nature of life — me struggling with myself, overcoming difficulties, experiencing joy, sadness, and everything in between. We also chose a very interesting composition for the clubs. It’s got a shamanic vibe. But it’s blended with classical music. For the ball, the theme is a mystical crystal ball of fate. It’s about me following it and overcoming all obstacles. And the ribbon is about love — about a man who loved a girl, they broke up, but he waits for her no matter what and will always love her. He just stays true to himself. I love them all. They’re all different and fit different moods. Sometimes during ribbon practice, I even feel like crying because it’s just so heartbreakingly emotional."

She also told what gymnasts from different countries talk about when they get together at major competitions:

"I’m on good terms with the girls from Armenia and, naturally, Russia, we also get along great with the girls from Uzbekistan. Honestly, we keep an eye on everyone — you could say we follow the whole world. Well, the first question is always 'How are you? How’s your health?' After that, we talk about gymnastics, life, and just everything."
