Alina Kabaeva explained the inclusion of the rope into the competition program

The Academy hosted the international Games of Countries tournament on October 19-22, according to the Sky Grace rules of the International Clubs Association rules. 

One of the features of the tournament is the inclusion of a jump rope into the program. After the end of the competition, Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva explained the importance of this change. 

“It’s great that we brought back this object, the jump rope, because very beautiful movements can be done in small ways and then we shouldn’t forget that we all started with a jump rope too,” the Olympic champion said. 

 She also said that it is very difficult for today’s generation of gymnasts to do exercises with this object.

 “These rules are not for yesterday, not for today, but for tomorrow, so another generation will do five types, as I did in my time. I always had five items in my purse: a jump rope, a hoop, a ball, clubs and a ribbon,” she said. 

In 2022, on the initiative of the Olympic champion, gymnasts began to perform with the jump rope at the Sky Grace tournament.
