Irina Zenovka, the Choreographer and the Stage Director of the Russian national team, revealed secrets of preparing routines for the Alina 2024 Festival.
"This year, the festival is dedicated to friendship. Friendship among peoples and relationships between people. We are all so different but we are together — this is what our Festival is about. And all these performances are connected by this. There will be a very interesting Middle Eastern performance. We tried to recreate the desert, the water in the desert, some of these oases, pearls, pearl divers. All of this came together for us. The performance dedicated to the 90th anniversary of rhythmic gymnastics in Russia combined the origins of rhythmic gymnastics from Ancient Greece to modern rhythmic gymnastics. There are several segments: Ancient Greece, a segment about Isadora Duncan as the mother of rhythmic gymnastics in Russia, a ribbon dance based on The Red Poppy ballet where Asaf Messerer danced the ribbon dance for the first time, and modern rhythmic gymnastics, where we have all the stars participating. For the first time, the festival will be held twice and in different countries. Naturally, we have prepared some more surprises for Minsk."
The professional also told us about the opportunities for her by participating in this sports event.
"The festival gives me a lot of opportunities for creativity. I am seeing through some of my dreams on this project that I cannot do somewhere else, in rhythmic gymnastics, for example, in my professional work. The festival gives me a lot of ideas and opportunities for this."
Irina Zenovka is the choreographer and the stage director of performances for the festival in Sochi held on March 2 and in Minsk, where it will be held on March 5.
