How are rehearsals taking place ahead of the Alina-2024 festival? Youth Olympic Games champion Irina Annenkova and coach Tatyana Golovina share
Rehearsals were held in Zhukovsky ahead of the Alina-2024 festival, where gymnasts from the Moscow region group exercise team prepared a routine under the guidance of choreographers Eldar Sayfutdinov and Ekaterina Bayborodina.
The 2014 Youth Olympic Games champion Irina Annenkova spoke about the preparation of this year’s performance and about the festival itself.
"We’re preparing a Spanish style performance. It will be very beautiful, bright! Spain is the theme that suits me, I love it very much! This festival is an opportunity for me to come into contact with my idol and the work of Alina Kabaeva, so I’ve always really liked participating in it from the very first time, when I was still a junior. And it was Alina Kabaeva who made a couple of comments then and that became a driving force for me in my athletic career," Irina said.
The gymnast shared her expectations from the upcoming sports festival.
"It will be very beautiful and cool as always! I have already seen the performance by our Sochi children, because I am from Sochi. And I really liked it. They have some African influences. And I think it will be very spectacular," she said.
Also, Russia’s Honored coach Tatyana Golovina spoke about the symbiosis of rhythmic gymnastics and dance, which is embodied in the performance.
"Symbiosis is very interesting, because in rhythmic gymnastics the rules include such things as dance tracks. And if this exists, we must be able to dance very colorfully, accessible and beautifully. This symbiosis is very close to us. And we are glad and happy to take part in this. We will teach dancers a lot. Maybe they will learn something from us, we will learn something from them. And when these emotions are exchanged, what is called the Alina festival takes place," Tatyana said.
This year, the Alina festival will be held for the 13th time, but for the first time in two countries. On March 2nd it will be hosted by the Academy in Sochi, and on March 5th by the Belarusian Minsk Arena.
