Choreographer Elena Afanasyeva sharing secrets of preparing routines for the Alina 2024 festival
Choreographer Elena Afanasyeva explained the features of producers’ work, preparations of routines and the Alina 2024 festival.
"This is the director’s wonderful work, this is the work of talented choreographers, this is the selection of music, the tailoring of costumes. It is all top notch. As I understand it, it’s going to move further, even higher. Each director has his or her own style. And here each director is strong in their own way. Therefore, it seems to me that it is very good that there are different directors, different styles, and different tasks. And this is the beauty of our joint creativity."
The choreographer also shared details of working on the performance with Chinese athletes.
"This year I have a very interesting task. I’m working with Chinese athletes. These are wonderful boys, just crazy beautiful guys, energy-wise and, in general, physically. It is a great pleasure to work with them. Together with this team, we have girls from St. Petersburg working at the Zhemchuzhina rhythmic gymnastics center. And we are creating this beautiful performance ‘Yin and Yang,’ the feminine principle and the masculine principle. And in the center of this performance there is a small child, which represents light, dawn, birth, and beauty."
Elena Afanasyeva also told us about the routine with gymnasts from Yakutia and Ulyanovsk participating.
"I’m also putting on a performance with the participation of the Yakutia athletes. One team trains in Moscow, the other team trains in the city of Ulyanovsk. There are two teams from Yakutia, wonderful girls, and together with them there are also girls from Ulyanovsk who help us achieve the goal of this routine. We have a girl there, principal performer Katya Ivanova, also a beautiful girl, who portrays the Siberian Crane, which means the symbol of Yakutia, the deity of Yakutia."
The Alina 2024 Festival will be held in the Academy in Sochi on March 2, and the Minsk Arena will be its host on March 5.
