Choreographer Eldar Sayfutdinov revealed details of preparations for the Alina-2024 festival
Choreographer Eldar Sayfutdinov is staging performances for the Alina-2024 festival. After the latest rehearsal, he told which festivals of past years he remembers the most.
“Probably, the two festivals associated with the Great Patriotic War left the greatest impression on me. It was the 70th anniversary of the Victory and the 75th anniversary of the Victory,” Eldar said.
Edar Sayfutdinov also spoke about the performances he is working on.
“This year, in general, I got a variety of performances as a director, together with the wonderful Natalya Belugina and Ekaterina Bayborodina. We are doing an African performance, we’re doing a jazz performance, we’re doing a Brazilian performance, we’re doing flamenco, we’re involved with the parade,” he said.
The director explained what motivation Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva gives him.
“This festival coincides with the Russian international students festival, in Sochi, and I think that this largely served as the starting point for the idea that we are implementing. Alina Kabaeva spurs everyone on so much with her glorious Olympic past and present that we cannot repeat ourselves, we cannot lower the bar,” the choreographer said.
In conclusion, Eldar shared his expectations from the festival.
“I expect it to be a colorful spectacle, competitive, despite the fact that this is not a tournament, not a competition, and very diverse,” he added.
This year the Alina festival will be held for the 13th time, but for the first time in two countries. On March 2 it will be hosted by the Academy in Sochi, and on March 5 by the Belarusian Minsk Arena.
