Alina Kabaeva, International Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Clubs Association President talks about the BRICS Games

President of the International Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Clubs Association Alina Kabaeva, having reviewed the regulations of the Russian Ministry of Sports for holding rhythmic gymnastics competitions at the BRICS Games, suggests:

To organize the participation of athletes competing from the Association in a way that all athletes are placed on equal terms, that is, all participants from the Association should have the opportunity to reach the finals and compete for any prize. This means that each gymnast will do three types. We wish good luck to all participants of the BRICS Games!

The BRICS Games regulations state:

The following are eligible to participate in the Individual Routine in the All-Around Finals: 24 gymnasts who showed the highest results in the sum of 3 exercises out of 4 (hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon) in the qualification, having completed an exercise without apparatus as a mandatory requirement, a maximum of 2 gymnasts from the team in each age group.

From the team of the Sky Grace International Rhythmic Gymnastics Clubs Association a maximum of 2 gymnasts with the citizenship of one country are allowed in each age group.

In addition, athletes from the team of the Sky Grace International Rhythmic Gymnastics Clubs Association in each age group who have shown results in the sum of 3 exercises out of 4 (hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon) in a qualification higher than the gymnasts are allowed to participate in the Individual Routine in the All-Around Finals from the team of the country of which the athlete is a citizen (provided that such a country is not the Organiser’s country).

Rhythmic gymnastics competitions at the BRICS Games will begin in Kazan on June 18.
