The Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy hosted its first day of selection for additional education groups for preschoolers.
The 1996 Olympics Games bronze medalist and Academy coach Irina Dzyuba, summed up the results of the selection process for young athletes.
"The day was exciting, probably for many. Today we saw about 65 girls. Many of them lived up to expectations, for the most part. They were of different ages, as we expected, from three and a half to six years. There were even a few girls a little older, they decided to also try to get into the Academy. They were from different cities of our country," she said.
She noted that together with the Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva, it was decided to hold a second stage of the selection in order to look at the children more attentively.
"We will have the second selection stage. Only then will we have, so to speak, those who will continue their studies at the Academy. Psychologists will join us, we will check how coordinated the girls are more closely, medical workers will be there too," the coach said.
Over 600 applications were submitted for selection into the additional education groups for preschoolers at the Academy.
