"They have a goal!" Ekaterina Belova talks about working with gymnasts from the DPR

Ekaterina Belova, Academy choreographer and former performer of the State Academic Folk Dance Ensemble named after Igor Moiseyev, assessed the level of training of gymnasts from Donetsk.

"Today I taught them the class that I usually teach to the children within the Academy, to those who study with us. Those who constantly study classical choreography, modern choreography, they are at a slightly different level. But at the same time, I want to note the drive that the children have to understand, to quickly figure it out and do. It's challenging, when it's fast paced," Ekaterina said. 

She emphasized the athletes’ great desire and readiness to work.

"Today we only had one hour for the lesson, there were a lot of children standing, but at the same time everyone was very collected and controlled the whole process. They know what they came here to do, how much time they have and what they have to achieve. They have a purpose," she said. 

Gymnasts from the DPR came to the Academy at the invitation of the Alina Kabaeva Charitable Foundation, which covered all of their expenses.
