"Every girl has interesting elements." Coach Irina Dzyuba - about the beginning of the Academy training camp

Olympic medalist Irina Dziuba shared her impressions of working with young gymnasts at the Sky Grace Academy after the first training camp day.

“It was hard today, I didn't know where to look.The girls are all very interesting, literally all of them. Practically all of them have interesting elements. Absolutely all have good physical abilities, all of them jump,” she said.

The coach noted that the athlete’s personality plays a big role in rhythmic gymnastics.

“Sport is, first of all, not only the physical abilities,  but also a diligent, hardworking personality, and willpower,” Irina said.

She also explained what qualities will help young athletes to prove themselves at the training camp.

“First of all, general endurance, and the psychological state. It is very important that they recover quickly. This is indeed a selection process for a high achieving sport,” Irina said.

 The training camp at the Sky Grace Academy will run May 15-21, with 36 participants from 16 Russian cities.
